Since the season started, freshmen Makani Whiteside has been
pretty consistent in his style of play. Now that the official games have
started, he’s been averaging double digits in his high school debut at Saint
John Bosco. He had an amazing career high against Centennial high. He dropped
18 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and a team victory of 61-53. On the Bosco win
vs Crenshaw high, he dropped 14 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. On the win versus
University high, he dropped 16 points, 4 assists, and 1 rebound. On the win
versus Chaminade high, he dropped 11 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. The Saint
John Bosco Braves are in a 5 game winning streak this season. They are ranked
on the top 100 in the state of California (ranked at #5 to be exact). They are
also ranked on the top 100 in the nation (ranked at #46 to be exact). The relationship
between Whiteside and new head coach Matt Dunn seem to be jelling really well.
Whiteside is 6foot 2inch, weighing 160 pounds, averaging 13 points, 4 assists,
2 rebounds, and 2 steals in his rookie year so far. He also averages a 4.0 GPA in the classrooms. Here is a pic of his grades

class of 2019, and rocks jersey number 11. The Bosco Braves and Whiteside’s
next challenge is going to be versus Chatsworth high in the San Fernando Valley
