Oregon Ducks Commit Tyler Dorsey will have a stand out 2015-16 season!

We have seen him help lead Ribet's Junior high team to a league championship, dunk the ball in the 8th grade on more than one occasion, help lead the Fighting Frogs to the CIF championship and state playoffs his freshmen year high school, grow as a player his sophomore year at St. John Bosco, seen him posterize his first victim in the CIF playoffs vs MiddleBrooks Los Angeles Cathedral Phantoms in his 10th grade year, we have seen him win a State championship his junior year, and win a CIF championship his senior year. There is no doubt in our minds that Tyler Dorsey is going to have a stand out season this upcoming year in College Hoops.
The game where he definitely grew into a real star was when he dropped 36 points and 16 rebounds his senior year with the MinuteMen from Maranatha high school. They were playing against LA Cathedral once again, and Dorsey had little help from his teammates that game. He kept the MinuteMen in the game the whole time, and only lost by 1 point. Cathedral was a highly ranked open division team at the time, and Dorsey was playing with a division 4 level team. Cathedral got the W, but the real winner was Dorsey. He got a chance to show the world that he was able to carry a division 4 team against an open division city and state playoff contender, he showcased his quickness, willingness to share the ball, consistency, athleticism, basketball IQ, and good sportsmanship. Footage is in the bottom:
He did great after the season was over when he went to play for Greece in the FIBA U19. He helped lead Greece to the final four of the FIBA U19 World Championship. Here is the footage of his impeccable performance in the final four.
He averaged 15.9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1.9 assists. If you want to see some exciting basketball this upcoming season for College Hoops, check out Dorsey as he prepares to play his freshmen year with the division 1 Oregon Ducks!

Will the state of Utah's #1 ranked player (DUKE COMMIT) Frank Jackson lead his team to the state chip before he departs?

Frank Jackson (Duke Commit) is the number one player in the state of Utah, ranked #4 in

his position (PG), and is ranked #14 in the Nation. Last year, Jackson and the Lone Peak Knights

went 18-7 overall in their season. Lone Peak from American Fork, is also ranked number one in the

state of Utah. Despite a fantastic record by the number one team in the state, and the number one

player in the state, Jackson and the Knights lost in the State playoffs last year against Viewmont High

from Bountiful Utah. Viewmont would later on lose to Layton high from Layton Utah, and Layton

would go on to defeat Brighton high from Salt Lake City Utah, to win the state championship. Layton

high was ranked number five in the state of Utah at the time last season. They also finished with a

record of 18-7. Jackson and the Knights are set to have their 2015-16 season opener versus the

returning state champs, the Layton high Lancers. They will be playing against each other December

2nd, 2015 at Layton's home court 7pm Mountain time. The leadership and character of Jackson will

be tested come December 2nd. Will he be able to lead the Knights to a state chip before his departure

to become a Duke Blue Devil? Great Sports Highlights and the rest of the world will be watching to

find out. Follow Frank Jackson on twitter at: https://twitter.com/FrankFjack5

The Cougars are starting to gain momentum as they steam roll pass Cincinnati

The Cougars are starting to feel the confidence as

they begin to gain win after win. On Friday nights

game vs Cincinnati, BYU started off a little rusty.

The slow start was mainly due to the injury Magnum

suffered last week versus East Carolina. He

attempted to run after seeing a wide gap in the

pocket, and he had no one else to throw to.

Sources say he was suffering from the effects of a

pulled hamstring. It seemed his injury was still a little

sensitive during the first half of the BYUvsCIN game. As time went on, in the second half, it looked like

Magnum finally caught his second wind as he began to throw some pretty deep completions. Cincinatti

worked as hard as they could to maintain the lead, but began to slip away late in the fourth quarter. In the

beginning Cinncinati used their speed to outrun the Cougars, but it ended up working against them in the

long run as they began to grow more, and more weary. By the time it was the fourth, they were gassed out,

and had no more fuel to get them over the hump as they began to slowly lose the lead, and eventually lose

the whole momentum as it switched in favor of the Cougs and ended with the demise of Cincinnati.

The Cougars' yardage leaders from yesterday's 38-24 win over Cincinnati:
Stats behind last night's 38-24 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats
The cougars are set to face Wagner October 24th 2015 @ 12PM. Wagner has yet to pull a W in their

2015-16 season. It will be interesting to see what they come up with to play against the Cougs. This might

be a chance for some second, third, and fourth string players to see some action for the Cougs as they

prepare to face Sea Hawks. BYU is with 5 wins and 2 losses so far in their 2015-16 season.

#33 Brandon Robinette  So. F 6foot 5inches from Escanaba, MI  Major:
Business

Brandon Robinette is a college basketball player for Finlandia University. Home of the Lions. A division three NCAA basketball program. He played twenty three games, and averaged 12.5 points per game, and seven rebounds. He is from Escanaba high school. we had the chance to sit down and have a question and answer with him about, how life as a student athlete is for him his second year of playing for the Finlandia University Lions.

1. What did u do in the off season to prepare for the upcoming season?

A) In the off season I prepare by playing in many Rec leagues and open gyms as well as lifting basically I play every day.
2. What does it mean to u to be a student athlete?

A) I take the student part seriously. An education is the reason I am here, basketball always comes second. Me being a D3 athlete I understand that I am not going to the league, and basketball cannot determine my entire future.

3. What's ur biggest joy about the game of basketball.

A) My biggest joy would have to be getting W's. I am the type of player who will pass up the open shot to get a better shot if it benefits my team.

4. Favorite sneaker to hoop on?

A) My favorite sneaker is Adidas, because they are light and have good ankle support.

5. What team do you look most forward to playing against this season?

A) I look forward to playing NMU as they are a D2 team

6. How do you plan to contribute to your team this year?

A) Last year as a freshman I was the second leading scorer and leading rebounder, but also had a high turnover. My goal this year is improve my numbers obviously become the leading scorer, and continue my rebounding while lowering my turnovers.

Q&A with SAC STATE's Wbb very own Madeline Dopplick (@mcdopp) #StingersUp !

1. What's the biggest transition from high school, and college hoops that you had to make?
A) The biggest transition is that it's a dog eat dog environment. Everyone goes at it on the court. It sounds a little scary, but it makes our team better.

 2. How would you describe the new basketball environment at Sac State?
 A) The basketball environment here is INTENSE. It's a go go go style of play. But it makes us one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NCAA.

3. What is it that you plan to contribute to your team this year?
A) I plan contribute effort. Just plain, old school, hard effort. You gotta remember you're playing for something bigger than yourself, So you gotta give it your all.

4. What's your pre-game, and post-game meals?
A) . I don't really have a certain meal I eat before or after, but in high school I used to eat in n out before every game which sounds a little weird, but it worked. After games I just make sure I get some protein in me for recovery.

 5. What is your pre-game ritual before starting every game?
A) For pre-game rituals I listen to super duper Kyle. He always puts me in a good mood. And I make sure I thank God for giving me the opportunity to even play the game of basketball. And I always gotta make sure I have a smile on my face before games it helps me relax. If I'm too serious before, I won't play like me.

6. Is it important to you to emphasize the imperative of a Student Athlete, meaning student should
always come 1st?
A) Yes, yes, and YES! Academics should always be your first priority no matter what. Especially for student athletes on scholly's, take advantage of the free education you're getting. Basketball or whatever sport you're playing will eventually end, so having a solid education is your best bet!

7. What team are you looking forward to playing against this season as a freshmen?
A) This is a tough one because we play against so many good teams, but I'll go with UCLA

8. How do you balance college, and D1 basketball, and still find time for family and friends?
A) Time management is HUGE. You just have to make sure your priorities are in check. Sometimes you won't have time to hangout with friends, or go out. You got to display great discipline at this level. You don't get a lot of free time like normal students, so you have to find a few minutes here, and there throughout your day to keep in touch with your closest family members, or friends. For example, I'll call my parents as I'm walking back to my dorm, or going to study table, or on my way to class. It's easy to get caught up in what you're doing, and not keep in touch with the important people, but if you find a little time like that it helps

9. Do you stay connected with all the kids you helped mentor back in high school?
A) Yes I do! They helped me just as much as I helped them.

mmmm
10. What do you do to always remain humble, and hungry both off, and on the court?
A) . Simple. I thank God. He keeps me humble, and on my feet. As for the hungry part, I just remember that I'm doing this for God himself. And also I know what I'm trying to accomplish with this game, so that keeps me going as well
